EveryWoman Book Club to Meet at UA

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The EveryWoman Book Club will meet at The University of Alabama to discuss “Reading Lolita in Tehran” by Azar Nafisi on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at 6 p.m. in the Frances S. Summersell Library, located on the third floor of Russell Hall.

“Reading Lolita in Tehran” gives a perspective of women’s lives in the Iran-Iraq war, and tells of the author’s experiences in holding an illegal book club to discuss Western literature. The book shares the group member’s stories, dreams and disappointments that are revealed in studying the forbidden books.

All members of the community and campus are welcome to attend. Books for future discussion will be decided upon at the meeting, and refreshments will be served.
