UA to Hold Premier Awards Convocation

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama will hold an informational convocation on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in room 10 Alston Hall to familiarize students with the UA Premier Awards, the top honors presented annually at the University.

Any student, faculty member, staff member or campus organization may encourage students to apply, or may submit for non-student award nominations supported by letters and other materials describing the nominees’ qualifications. Individuals who believe they are qualified are also encouraged to apply.

The Premier Awards include the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Award, the William P. Bloom Scholarship Award, the John Fraser Ramsey Award, and the Morris Lehman Mayer Award.

A detailed listing of requirements for each of these awards can be found at http://www.premierawards.ua.edu. The deadline for applications and nominations is noon on Wednesday, Dec. 1, to the UA Office of Dean of Students in the Ferguson Center.
