Gene Stallings to Sign Items for UA’s RISE Program Dec. 11, 12 in Tuscaloosa, Birmingham

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Former University of Alabama Head Football Coach Gene Stallings will sign cookbooks and calendars benefiting UA’s RISE Program Dec. 11 in Tuscaloosa and Dec. 12 in Birmingham.

Stallings will be at Candlelife in University Mall in Tuscaloosa from 5-7 p.m. on Dec. 11 and at Saks Fifth Avenue at The Summit in Birmingham from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Dec. 12.

The RISE Cookbook, “Downright Delicious,” is a collection of recipes from RISE parents, staff, board members, friends of RISE and the Stallings family. Cookbooks are $15 each.

The calendars, $10 each, feature photos of the children of the RISE program.

Both items can be purchased at the signings.

For more than 25 years the RISE program has helped prepare more than 2,000 children, both disabled and non-disabled, for public school classes. In 1999, RISE received accreditation from The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC); a prestigious recognition only achieved by 7 percent of early childhood programs nationwide.
