UA’s Harris Appointed Alabama ACT Representative

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Dr. Lisa B. Harris, assistant vice president for undergraduate admissions and financial aid at The University of Alabama, has been appointed as the Alabama representative to the ACT Corp.

Harris’s three-year term began Oct. 17 at the ACT annual meeting in Iowa City. Members of the Alabama ACT Council elected her to this position.

Harris has been with UA since 1998, serving as director of admissions and financial aide from 1998-2000, and prior to that spent eight years leading the admissions office at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.

She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Clemson University and a doctorate from Louisiana State University. As an ACT state representative, she will recommend policy changes to the organization’s board of trustees and act on proposed revisions to the articles of incorporation and bylaws.

ACT Inc. is a national, nonprofit educational organization known for administering the nation’s most widely accepted college-entrance and placement exam. The organization also offers a wide variety of services in K-12 and post-secondary education, career planning, professional certification and licensure, and workforce development.
