UA Sorority Receives National Awards

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama’s Zeta Tau Alpha sorority received three top awards this summer at their National Leadership Conference in St. Louis.

The Crown Chapter Award, the most prestigious award, was given to Zeta Tau Alpha’s chapter because they excelled in finances, activities, grades, involvement and membership. Only 40 chapters receive this award.

The UA sorority also received the Total/Quota Award for fall 2000 for obtaining the maximum number of new members and the Financial Improvement Award.

Elizabeth Joint of Metairie, La., the UA Zeta Tau Alpha chapter president, and Ashley Calhoun of Tuscaloosa, the recruitment chair, accepted the awards on behalf of their 137 chapter members.
