UA’s Sarah Moody Gallery of Art to Present ‘Richard Zoellner: The Continuous Quest’

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art within The University of Alabama’s College of Arts and Sciences will present “Richard Zoellner: The Continuous Quest” Friday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Oct. 14.

The public is invited to attend a free opening night reception, Friday, Sept. 7, from 6-8 p.m. Additionally, a gallery walk-through will take place Thursday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m.

This exhibition chronicles 60 years of artwork by Richard Zoellner, a UA professor emeritus of art. Zoellner came to the University’s department of art in the 1940s, where he taught painting and printmaking until 1979. He continues to work following retirement at his private studio.

Works from local collectors, as well as the collection of the artist, will be featured. A catalog will accompany the exhibition.

The Sarah Moody Gallery of Art is located in 103 Garland Hall on the UA campus. Funding support for the gallery is provided by the department of art, the Friends of the Gallery, and the College of Arts and Sciences. Gallery hours are 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. weekdays, and 2-5 p.m. Sundays. Admission to the gallery is free.
