UA Career Counselor Receives Award

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — During the annual conference of The Alabama Association of Colleges and Employers (AACE), Melissa Medlin, career counselor at The University of Alabama, was recognized as The Outstanding New Professional of the Year.

The award is given to a member who has made outstanding contributions to the profession and to AACE during the first three years of membership.

Medlin severed on the winter workshop and summer conference planning committees. At the 2000 Winter Workshop, she was selected as the membership chairperson/board member for colleges. She will serve on the AACE board for a two-year term.

AACE consists of career service and cooperative education professionals in four- year and two-year colleges. The organization also includes human resource professionals in businesses and government agencies throughout the state.
