UA Astronomers To Host Public Sky Viewing Friday

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Visitors can, weather permitting, get a close look at a crescent moon, Jupiter and Saturn by peering through a University of Alabama telescope at Gallalee Hall, on Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Dr. Raymond White, professor of physics and astronomy, will be the speaker.

Another public viewing is scheduled for UA’s Gallalee Hall Monday, Dec. 25, from 9:45 a.m. until 1 p.m. when a partial solar eclipse will be the focus.

Gallalee Hall is located on the UA campus near the intersection of Hackberry Lane and University Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.
