UA Libraries Announce Instruction Classes

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — University Libraries at The University of Alabama has announced it will offer instructional classes for faculty and students in the use of EBSCOhost, WebSPIRS and Internet search engines on a fixed schedule from Sept. 19- Oct. 12.

Individual instructional classes are 50 minutes long and will be held in the instructional classroom at either Bruno Business Library or the Science and Engineering Library. The classes are offered on a first come/first serve basis. The rooms seat a maximum of 20 participants. Sign up at the Reference Desk in Bruno, SEL and McClure or e-mail apower@bama.ua.edu.

Instruction in the use of the Online Catalog/EBSCOhost, the Libraries’ electronic catalog, includes Boolean searching and search techniques for limiting or qualifying a search by language, library location, etc. Training will include searching MLA, PsychoINFO and ERIC across the WebSPIRS databases using the same search protocol.
