UA Career Center To Host Image Seminar

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — The University of Alabama Career Center is hosting the 2000 Image Seminar “Dining Etiquette and Career Dress,” Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. in the ballroom of the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Tuscaloosa.

“We hold the seminar annually to assist students in preparing for the interview process,” Jill Hicks, UA Career Center counselor and director of the event, said. “We want them to know proper dining techniques and what proper attire is for situations they many encounter during the interview process.”

The seminar will include a five-course dinner and a fashion show to demonstrate professional dining etiquette and proper career dress. Attendees will hear from speakers about what to expect during an interview.

The cost of the event is $16.50 per person. Tickets may be purchased in the UA Career Center, 330 Ferguson Center, until Sept. 21 at 4 p.m.

Gina Johnson, director of auxiliary and support services at UA, will present the segment on dining etiquette. The clothes for the women’s segment of the fashion show will be provided by McRae’s and will be presented by Dr. Kathleen Randall, associate vice president of student affairs. Men’s fashions will be provided by The Shirt Shop and will be presented by Charles Spurlin, owner of The Shirt Shop.

Members of the Alabama Student Society for Communication Arts will model the clothes and assist with seating.
