“We are especially excited to have the Diaz Trio open up our new Celebrity Series season at The University of Alabama,” said Joyce Grant, interim coordinator of music services. “Particularly exciting is the fact that we have reduced our ticket prices by 25 percent as a thank you to our existing patrons and as an added enticement for other music lovers to come and experience the world class sounds we annually bring to the University and surrounding area. The Diaz Trio is sure to leave each audience member cherishing the experience and looking forward to our next event.”

One of the finest professional string trios in existence today, the Diaz Trio has become one of the premiere chamber music ensembles in the United States. Comprised of three dynamic artists, Andres Cardenes, Roberto Diaz and Anres Diaz, the group performs regularly in recitals and festivals around the world. Recent performances have placed the trio in Los Angeles, Seattle, Pittsburgh, Boston and the Lincoln Center in New York. Festival appearances include the Mostly Mozart Festival at Kennedy Center, the Newport Festival, the Cape and Islands Festival, Festival de San Miguel de Allende in Mexico, St. Cyprien International Festival of the Arts in France and the Kuhmo Festival in Finland.

In 1993, the trio performed at Carnegie’s Weill Hall to celebrate the next 100 years of music at Carnegie Hall. In addition to regular appearances on the series of both the Corcoran Gallery and Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C., the trio has made highly successful tours in Canada and South America. Their recent CD on the Dorian label, featuring chamber music of Paganini, has received rave reviews.
