University of Alabama President Andrew Sorensen will meet with the media at 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 22, in his annual “back to school” press briefing. This year’s event will take place in room A-342 of the Seebeck Computer Center in Gordon Palmer Hall.
Immediately following the press briefing, Sorensen and UA Admissions Director Lisa Harris will present laptop computers to some 94 National Merit, National Achievement and National Hispanic Scholars. The computers are given to these nationally competitive scholars as part of their UA scholarship package. A number of these outstanding students will be on hand for interviews.
