UA Dance Professor to Present Paper at National Conference

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Linda Caldwell, an associate professor of dance at The University of Alabama, has been selected to present a paper at the Dancing in the Millennium Conference in Washington, D.C., in July.

Caldwell’s paper, “Experiencing Contemporary Dance in Poland through the Juxtaposition of Written, Visual and Aural Images,” was chosen from some 340 submissions to the conference program committee.

Caldwell has published articles on contemporary Polish dance in American and Polish journals and has received grants through UA to create exchanges between Polish and American dancers. Her choreography has been awarded nationally at the American College Dance Festival and has been presented internationally.
