Media Advisory: UA Students to Kick Off Dance Marathon 2000 at News Conference on Feb. 3

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.‚ University of Alabama students will introduce Dance Marathon 2000 ‚ UAs inaugural student-run fundraiser for the Childrens Hospital of Alabama‚ at a news conference set for 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 3, at the Student Recreation Center on campus.

The fundraiser, organized completely by students, will support the Childrens Miracle Network (CMN), an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for childrens hospitals, with funds raised at UA going directly to the Children’s Hospital of Alabama.

The 24-hour dance event is planned for March 17-18 at the Student Recreation Center.

The news conference will include details on UAs Dance Marathon, background on CMN, a visit from a CMN Miracle family, and an appearance by Big Al. Students involved in the marathon will set the tone for the event with an energetic spirit dance.
