This session will provide an overview of the Research Grants Committee (RGC) internal research funding mechanism. The session will cover the application process, the required proposal components, and the RGC Funding Levels and project Areas. The Research Grants Committee, through the Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development (OVPRED), accepts proposals for Research grants each year from full-time tenured, tenured track, clinical, and clinical track UA faculty.  Additional eligibility criteria include: Former grant recipients are ineligible (as either PI or co-PI) for the same or lower Level award for three (3) years following the expiration of either a Level 1, Level 2, or Level 3 award. The RGC has three funding levels to assist faculty with seed data projects, interdisciplinary research, and interdisciplinary equipment purchases.

The proposal submission window for 2018 funding will be November 15 – December 18, 2018. All proposals must be submitted by 1:00 p.m. December 18, 2017. Additional information on the RGC is available on the RGC website.  The 2018 RGC Application Manuals and materials will be updated and added to the RGC website prior to the first workshop.
