Sensitivity to the circumstances and feelings of others is the cornerstone of human relationships. Sensitivity training exists to make people more aware of their own prejudices, sensitivities and behaviors, with the aim of enhancing their sensitivity toward others. In this course, online experiences, individual and shared activities, questionnaires, and a review of our differences and similarities are used to help learners raise awareness and understanding of sensitivity in order to create a more welcoming and inclusive environment.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Learn UA's definition for the competencies – Sensitivity and Diversity
  • Heighten awareness and understanding of the need for "sensitivity in the workplace"

  • Explore how words/actions may be found offensive and how to "re-frame" those comments
