Memorial event for those that lost their lives on 09/11/01. Will plan a route for participants to walk in order for them climb an equivalent of 110 stories that will represent the amount of floors in the twin towers. This event was performed last year and will likely use the same route plan. Will plan on having a small ceremony at the beginning of the event with an Honor Guard. Will also plan to have a "Missing Man Table" as a visual memorial as was also prepared last year.
The 2019 Tuscaloosa 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is a way to honor and remember the FDNY, NYPD, Port Authority Police (PAPD) and EMS who selflessly gave their lives so that others might live on 9-11-2001. Each participant pays tribute to a firefighter, police officer or EMS by climbing the equivalent of the 110 stories of the World Trade Center. Through our firefighter, law enforcement and EMS community, we can ensure that each of the 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement officers, 8 EMS, and countless others are honored and that the world knows that we will never forget.
