[Support Programs and Services for Students]

All students, faculty, staff, and visitors parking on campus agree to follow the University's parking rules and regulations. The goal of Transportation Services, a division of Auxiliary and Support Services, is to assist you in parking on campus. We make available a parking zone map and regulations for your convenience. Your cooperation is needed to make parking on campus a successful experience. Visit our website at

Student parking permits. Students planning to drive and park on campus between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, are required to purchase parking permits from the Transportation Services office, located in the new Student Services Center across from Ferguson Center. Remember to bring your valid Action Card. The type of parking permit you receive will be determined by your campus residential status. A brochure detailing parking rules and regulations will accompany your permit. You should familiarize yourself with the regulations to avoid citations and unnecessary expenses.

Students registered for fall classes may preregister for their parking permits. Simply log on to and complete the registration process. A permit will be mailed to your home address in early August.

Visitor parking permits. Parents and visitors driving and parking on campus should obtain visitor permits. You may obtain these permits from the Transportation Services office.

Motorist Assistance Program. Transportation Services offers the Motorist Assistance Program (MAP), which provides free assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors who experience car trouble on campus. Call (205) 348-0121, ext. 12, or (205) 348-5454 (University Police) after hours, for this service.
