PROGRAM OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the program, the graduate will be able to
- synthesize knowledge from the disciplines of nursing, the sciences, and the humanities as the basis for decision making for the professional practice of nursing
- utilize critical thinking in promoting, attaining, or restoring adaptive mechanisms throughout the life span of persons in a variety of settings
- employ appropriate communication techniques
- contribute to the improvement of the health care environment by utilizing inquiry methodology and incorporating relevant research findings into nursing practice
- collaborate with colleagues, consumers, and other health care providers in efforts to identify and meet the changing needs in the health care environment
- assume responsibility for personal and professional growth
- demonstrate responsibility and accountability for professional nursing practice decisions
- practice primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention within a framework of legal, ethical, and professional standards
- demonstrate leadership principles in managing the care of person(s)
- demonstrate caring behaviors when working with persons
