STUDENT-DESIGNED MINOR
Dr. James Hall, Coordinator
Office: 107 Carmichael Hall
The student-designed minor originates with a student's interest in issues or questions that cross disciplinary lines. Proposals for the minor are developed by the student in consultation with faculty.
Requirements for the student-designed minor. The minor requires 21 hours of coursework selected from at least two disciplines and 9 hours at the 300 or 400 level. A minimum of 6 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus.
Proposal forms are available in the New College office. Proposals require a clearly defined rationale, a tentative set of courses (including at least one activity that clearly integrates the program of study), and identification of a faculty sponsor.
Students with possible interest in a student-designed minor are encouraged to discuss their ideas with the program coordinator early in their academic career.
