CULVERHOUSE COLLEGE OF COMMERCE AND BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION MINORS

Students in the College of Arts and Sciences may apply one of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration minors below toward the requirements of a College of Arts and Sciences degree program, subject to the provisions stated on p. 64-66. All minors require a minimum of 6 hours at the 300 or 400 level earned on this campus and a grade point average of 2.000 or higher in the minor program of study.

Admission to a Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration minor is by application. A student applying for admission to a business minor must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher for all college-level coursework attempted and a 2.5 or higher grade point average for all University of Alabama coursework attempted. A student whose grade point average falls below these standards may petition the assistant dean of undergraduate programs of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration for admission to a business minor if the student's grade point average for the last 30 hours attempted is 2.5 or higher. A student admitted to a business minor will be permitted to enroll in all coursework required for the specific minor even if the student's grade point average subsequently falls below the 2.5 average required for admission, provided all other enrollment requirements are met.

*Students who complete the minor in real estate satisfy the pre-licensing requirement of the Alabama Real Estate Brokers examination.

A student admitted to any of these minors is subject to the following policies of the Culverhouse College of Commerce and Business Administration (C&BA). Failure to comply with these policies will result in administrative disenrollment from C&BA courses.

  1. Prior to enrolling in any 300- or 400-level C&BA course, a student must have completed all of the specific prerequisites established for the courses.

  2. Prior to enrolling in any 300- or 400-level C&BA course, a student must have achieved junior standing (defined as 61 semester hours earned).

  3. A student may earn degree credit for no more than 30 hours of C&BA courses (excluding EC 110, EC 11, and ST 260).
