A student may pursue a program of study in either theatre or dance.

Theatre (TH)

Requirements for the major in theatre. The theatre major requires 36 hours of coursework with the TH designation, including the following: TH 141, TH 220, TH 230, TH 290 (4 hours), TH 361, TH 451, TH 452, and TH 470. A minor in communication studies or English is recommended. A minimum of 12 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus.

Requirements for the minor in theatre. The theatre minor requires 21 hours of coursework with the TH designation, including TH 290 (2 hours) and 6 hours at the 300 or 400 level. A minimum of 6 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus.

Dance (DN)

Requirements for the major in dance. The dance major requires 35 hours including the following: DN 140, DN 240, DN 265, DN 324, DN 340, DN 400, DN 403, DN 440, DN 470, DN 471, and at least 6 hours of dance technique, 3 of which must be at the 300 or 400 level. A minimum of 12 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus. Each dance major must reach a proficiency level of 300 in his or her major technique (modern or ballet) and 200 in his or her secondary technique (modern, ballet, or jazz) before graduation. Dance majors must register for dance technique each semester and participate in all auditions.
