Requirements for the Asian studies major. The major in Asian studies requires 36 hours, including the following:

HY 244; two courses (6 hours) chosen from

GY 347,
HY 309,
HY 310,

ASST 450; three courses (9 hours) chosen from courses dealing with Asia, either offered at The University of Alabama or taken for credit while the student is a foreign or exchange student at a university in Asia
*, and four semesters (12-14 hours) of a single Asian language. A minimum of 12 hours at the 300 or 400 level must be earned on this campus.
Requirements for the Asian studies minor. The minor in Asian studies requires 18 hours, including the following:
