WebCT eLearning
WebCT is the
online course management system of the University of
Alabama. With the integration of WebCT with the Student
Information System (SIS), instructors automatically
have a WebCT course at their disposal. At the very
least, an instructor could use WebCT as an online gradebook
and easily export those grades into SIS. The Faculty
Resource Center offers training videos and tutorials
on how to accomplish this task.
WebCT utilizes
the Bama ID and a password
to provide a secure area for course content and classroom
communication. Students enrolled in a course through
SIS and the instructor(s) of the course are automatically
entered into a WebCT course shell that is available to
them upon logging into WebCT. The staff of the Faculty
Resource Center is available to collaborate with faculty
members in preparing web ready content for their course.
In addition, training sessions are available for a group
or all of your department’s faculty members who
would like to learn more about WebCT.

Respondus for WebCT
Respondus is a program that provides a more user-friendly method for creating and managing exams that can be published directly to your WebCT course(s). Respondus uses a familiar Windows-style environment where faculty can create exams offline that can be easily uploaded into WebCT.
Note to Macintosh users: Respondus is currently only available for Windows, but a version for Macintosh users is expected in the near future.
