ALL international students are required to check-in and attend the appropriate CIS Check-in and Orientation sessions in order to comply with U.S.C.I.S requirements and to have their SEVIS record registered. SEVIS registration is a requirement to prevent termination of a student’s SEVIS record. Below are the schedules for these events, plus links to additional information for new students.
Spring 2012 classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday, January 11, 2012. However there are a number of pre-registration requirements international students must fulfill before classes begin.

Summer 2012 Semester:
- Official arrival date is Monday, January 9, 2012. Students should plan to be on campus by the report date indicated on their immigration document, Monday January 9, 2012, for most students.
- Check-in – Monday, January 9, 2012 from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in 109 B.B. Comer. Students need to bring their passport, visa, I-94 Arrival/Departure Record, and any other immigration documents they have.
- Capstone International Services Orientation – Monday, January 9, 2012 from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Summer 2012 Semester:
Summer 2012 classes are scheduled to begin Tuesday, May 29, 2012. Information concerning summer 2012 check-in and orientation will be mailed to the student along with their I-20 or DS-2019.
Undergraduate international students must attend the mandatory Undergraduate Admissions Orientation in order to register for classes. Admissions Orientations Schedules: Summer I 2011 - May 27, 2011; Summer II 2011 - July 5, 2011 and Fall 2011 – August 19, 2011.
Graduate international students must attend the mandatory Graduate Admissions Orientation. See the Graduate Services website for information.
