UA Core Requirements
Many of the above lower division courses can be completed in settings other than the traditional classroom. Some of the classes are available online through the University of Alabama Academic Outreach option. Most of the core courses are available at your local community college. Students also may earn credit for History, PSY101 and computer courses by successfully completing College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) General Examinations or CLEP Subject Examinations. A challenge examination is available through the UA Testing Services for NHM 101: Nutrition.

Students must also complete three hours in the area outside of their sequence (e.g., a student completing in HY 101 and 102 must take a Literature course to satisfy degree requirements).
