Dr. Handley received her BSN from The University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1973. She completed a MSN at The University of Alabama in Birmingham with a focus on Maternal-Child Nursing in 1983. Dr. Handley earned a PhD in nursing in 2002 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Dr. Handley has experience in Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing as a staff nurse, clinical specialist, and in nursing management. She has taught at the University of Alabama, Capstone College of Nursing since 1995, where she currently teaches in the Childbearing Family and Nursing Research Courses. Dr. Handley is a member of AWHONN, Rural Nurses Organization, Sigma Theta Tau, and Phi Kappa Phi.
