If you're concerned about how to finance your continuing education, or if you are currently having trouble meeting nursing education obligations, we may be able to offer you some helpful information. Please check the links below to see if there is anything that might be helpful:
Financial Aid: Always apply for financial aid! There are many programs available at the graduate level just waiting for you to take advantage of them, including government student loans. Link to the graduate school's site to find out more: http://www.graduate.ua.edu or go directly to the financial aid area of their site.
The information below was extracted from the nursing section of HRSA.
Federal Government Assistance: The Health Resources and Services Administration
(HRSA) offers repayment of educational loans to employed nurses: All
NELRP participants must enter into a contract agreeing to work full time
in an approved eligible health facility. For two years of service, the
NELRP will pay 60 percent of the participant’s total qualifying
loan balance. A participant who agrees to serve two years may be eligible
to amend the NELRP contract and work a third year at an eligible health
facility, for which the NELRP will pay an additional 25 percent of the
qualifying loan balance.
