Dr. Packa received a BSN from Murray State University in 1972. She received her master's degree in 1976 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a clinical specialty in cardiovascular nursing. She received a DSN degree from UAB in 1986. Dr. Packa is a member of the graduate faculty and teaching courses in both the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs. She collaborates with other faculty and administrators in the providing curricula for students that are current. She also counsels with students who have academic concerns during the course of their studies. Dr. Packa is a member of the Epsilon Omega Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, and other professional nursing organizations, and serves on the UA Associate Dean's Councils for both the Undergraduate and Graduate programs.
