1. Go to http://tideguide.ua.edu
2. Click on Tide Navigator on the left side of the screen
3. On the right side of the screen, either click on View the Tutorial (recommended) or skip the tutorial and click on Start Tide Navigator
4. Click on Start Me Up
5. Click on Schedule at top of screen (red “islands” have only undergraduate courses)
6. Enter Student Number (SS #) and Password (mmddyy of your birthdate); click Submit
7. Click on I Accept, no matter what the message in the window says;  (this takes you to a blank schedule grid)
8. Select semester in lower-left window
9. Select Search to search for courses you want and to build your schedule
10. Select course prefix
11. Select Find (takes you to a list of that department’s courses)
12. Select course you want to add to your schedule, and click semester you want it
13. Repeat for each course until you have completed building your schedule
14. Click Register to finish

 When you receive your schedule in the mail from Student Receivables, be sure to confirm it.  Even if you have a graduate fellowship or scholarship, your schedule will be cancelled if not confirmed by one of these 4 methods:  (1) completing the tear-off form at the bottom and returning it (even if you have no balance due), (2)  confirming by phone (205) 348-4470, (3) confirming in person in Room 105 of the Student Services Building on campus, or (4) confirming online with the following steps:

1. Go to http://tideguide.ua.edu
2. Click on Login to Student Services, then Continue
3. Enter Student Number (SS #) and Password (mmddyy of your birthdate); click Login to Tide Guide
4. Click on Enrollment Confirmation in the Student Records section
5. Select the billing term and then click Select
6. View account balance and amount due; select credit card payment, complete the needed information, and click Submit
