SUMMER 2007 DEADLINES |
| May 14-June 1 | Interim Term |
| June 4-8 | Application for Degree must be filed in the Graduate School Office by those students who anticipate graduating this Summer. A $10 fee is charged if you apply to graduate and graduation requirements are not met. (Application for admission to candidacy should precede applying for degree. It is the student's responsibility to see that admission to candidacy is on file in the Graduate School Office.) Both forms are available at: http://graduate.ua.edu/academics/forms/ |
| June 5 | Classes Begin |
| June 6 | Last day to register or add a course for first term. |
| June 7 | Last day to register for courses throughout summer session. |
| June 19 | Last day to remove a two-week incomplete grade. |
| June 22 | Last day to submit thesis/dissertation title card to the Graduate School Office. (Applicable only to students who have applied for an advanced degree and who are required to submit theses and dissertations.) |
| June 22 | Last day to drop a first term course* |
| June 22 | Deadline to apply for transfer of graduate credit earned at another accredited institution if all other requirements will be completed during summer. |
| June 29 | Last day to defend and edited theses and dissertations and submit to the Graduate School Office to graduate in summer. NO EXCEPTIONS! |
| July 9 | Late Registration for second term. |
| July 10 | Classes Begin |
| July 11 | Last day to register or add second term course. |
| July 16-17 | Foreign Language examinations. Information pertaining to the exams may be obtained from the foreign language department concerned. |
| July 27 | Last day to report results of final comprehensive examination to the Graduate School Office for those students NOT writing theses and dissertations and who expect to graduate in summer. |
| July 27 | Last Day to drop a second term course* |
| August 11 | COMMENCEMENT |

* If, in extraordinary circumstances, a student is permitted by the Graduate Dean to drop a course after this date, the student's academic status at the time of dropping will be noted on the record ("W" for courses passing, "F" for courses failing). This is also true for students fully withdrawing from the University after the tenth week of a semester.
