The Internal Medicine Clinic is staffed by Internal Medicine physicians who are full time and part time faculty of the University. “Internists” specialize in being “Doctors for Adults”. This consists of providing medical care for patients beginning in their teens and the rest of their lives. General health and wellness, lung, heart, thyroid, gastrointestinal, musculoskeletal and infectious diseases are some of the areas of medicine that we address. The Department of Internal Medicine's physicians diagnose and treat
a broad array of adult medical problems such as the following:

Arthritis and Rheumatism, including osteoarthritis, gout, rheumatoid arthritis.
- Cardiology, including blood pressure control, EKG evaluation
- Endocrinology, including diabetes, thyroid and bone disorders
- Gastroenterology, including bowel and liver evaluation and treatment
- Geriatrics, including thorough evaluation of the aged and their medical
needs
- Hematology, including management of anemia and clotting problems
- Infectious Disease, including vaccinations, fever evaluation, infection
management
- Metabolism, including evaluation of weight problems and bone diseases, osteoporosis

- Nephrology, including evaluation and treatment of kidney and bladder disorders
- Neurology, including muscle and nerve disorders and seizure management
- Pharmacology, including thorough evaluation of appropriate medicine needs
