Welcome to the Betty Shirley Clinic, home of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, University of Alabama School of Medicine [Tuscaloosa Campus]. This Department has a mission of providing education and training to medical students and family medicine residents. We recognize that psychiatric disorders are very common across patient populations in all specialties of medicine. As such, our mission is to provide a biopsychosocial understanding of patients with medical and psychiatric disorders. This is a multidisciplinary department including psychiatry, psychology, and social work dedicated to excellent patient care, education and research.
