Melanie Tucker, M.A., C.C.R.C., is a Research Associate for the Institute for
Rural Health Research in the Division of Clinical Investigations. She joined
the Institute after working in clinical trials at the Veterans Affairs Medical
Center in Tuscaloosa and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Prior to beginning her work in clinical research, Tucker was a Marriage and
Family therapist in Indiana and Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s
Degree in Personnel Psychology from Athens University and her Master’s
Degree in Counselor Education from The University of Alabama.
She is married to George Brown, Director of University Recreation.
