Dr. Dwight Hooper is a native of Maryland who comes to the University of Alabama
following a commission in the U.S. Air Force. Following his medical education
at the University Of Maryland School of Medicine and his training in Obstetrics
and Gynecology at the University of Maryland School Of Medicine’s Harbor
Hospital Center’s training program, Dr. Hooper became the chief of Obstetrics
at the U.S. Air Force’s 5th Medical Group in Minot, North Dakota. Dr. Hooper
then entered private practice in Georgia and Alabama before joining the faculty
at the Tuscaloosa campus of The University of Alabama School of Medicine. Dr.
Hooper served as chair of this Department for a three-year term prior to our
current chair.
Dr. Hooper’s education, in addition to his medical education, includes
an MBA degree from Cole’s College of Business of Kennesaw State University.
This education has led to interests culminating in publications in both scientific/clinical
journals as well as business/finance publications.
In addition to finance/medical management interests, Dr.
Hooper’s clinical interests include management of abnormal uterine bleeding
and operative vaginal delivery of pregnancies. |
