Dr. Alexander was born in Durham, North Carolina. She received a B.A.
in Neuroscience from Davidson College in 1990, and her medical degree from UAB
medical school in 1996. She then attended the Tuscaloosa Family Practice
Residency Program where she developed a special interest in colposcopy. She
practiced in Gordo, Alabama for two years before returning to the family practice
faculty.
Professional interests
include asthma and abnormal pap smears as well as rural medicine. She was named
Residency Director on 10-01-2004.
In her spare time she enjoys playing French horn and spending time with her
husband, Hugh, an attorney, and her three small children.
