E*Value is a new web-based program that allows you to record both your diagnoses
and procedures, which is a requirement by all
clerkship students at all three campuses. In addition to logging your
activities, this program also has a feature that allows you to generate reports
on your clinical activities for your records. E*Value can be used with either
your PDA or desktop.
You may occasionally find a slight problem with the program. In these instances,
please report your findings Dr. James Jackson (contact information below).
Your access information for entering E*Value was sent to you via email.
The E*Value URL is http://www.e-value.net. Upon
entering the program, you will see a green menu bar to the left for which you
will use to navigate through the program.
For detailed instructions on using the program, select:
- Help
- User Manual
To load the program on your PDA, select:
- Procedures or Diagnosis (located under “User Menu”)
- Palm Setup
- then simply follow the instructions
To enter a procedure or diagnosis, select:
- Procedures or Diagnosis (located under “User Menu”)
- Add New
- then enter your information in each field
Things you need to know about logging your information:
If you need to enter multiple diagnosis/procedures, make your selection from
the dropdown menu then click “Choose Primary”, make
your next selection from the dropdown menu then click “Choose Secondary”,
and so forth.
For those items not available in the dropdown menus, select “Other” then
clarify
what “other” is in the “Indications,
Complications, and other notes” field (located just below
the date field).
In the field, “Enter the patient's age group”
you will find all the age groups duplicated with “Uninsured / Medicaid” following
the 2nd group of age categories.
If you know that your patient falls into this underserved
category, please indicate it here by making the proper selection.
For any questions or problems you may have concerning the E*Value Diagnosis
and Procedure Tracking program, please contact Dr. James Jackson (jjackson@uasom.uab.edu)
