The University of Alabama School of Medicine, Tuscaloosa campus, is a recognized
leader in medical education and in addressing the health care needs of underserved
rural areas of the state. One in seven Alabama family physicians graduated from
the Tuscaloosa Family Practice Residency at the College of Community Health Sciences.
We want to ensure that the next generation of Alabama’s doctors (yours
and mine!) get the best possible instruction, equipment, and opportunities as
they prepare for their careers.
In the 33 years of the residency program, we have graduated 325 family physicians.
In addition, more than 500 medical students have been here for their junior and
senior years of medical school, scoring well on boards, entering virtually every
specialty in an array of prestigious residency programs.
Your financial contributions can create student scholarships, provide funds
for faculty development, underwrite medical leadership and professional experiences
for students and residents, supplement medical library materials, and much more.
